olson acoustics

hi all, man ive been trying to put a order in for a olson acoustic and there realy backed up on orders,its about a 13 month wait or more, ive never played one but i am goign by there reputation more than anything. the one im looking into is completely custom koa wood electric acoustic with cutaway. does anyone know how the taylors compare to the olsons. im not being impatient i know good things take good time. but if the taylors compare ok i can get one of those tommorow if i want.ive played alot of taylors and they play great and sound awesome and they age nice and the sound only gets better with age. any help would be great and thanks ahead of time. god bless you all tim pate
 
If you are looking for something in the class of an Olson, better to look in the direction of Collings, Santa Cruz, Froggy Fottom, Bourgeois, James Goodall (like koa?), Omega, and some of the smaller luthier shops like Merrill and Ehlers.

C7Sus put his finger on it, although I don't know that "cheap" really applies well to Taylor, Martin or Gibson etc. But he's right that the Olson is in a different class altogether from any mass produced instrument. If you're in the market for high end, also check out Kevin Ryan, Tom Ribbecke, Linda Manzer, Bill Moll, Robert Benedetto... the list is a long one. Enjoy this process!
