i was looking through some old threads and seen some post of old tascam boards and were recomended. Please any info on some good old boards i can look for on ebay i am looking to use 16 tracks and i wana use preamps and i also wana mix on the board from my digi001 to it. I would really like to get a not so digital sound something to add life to my tracks i figured maybe an old anolog board to mix on and use preamps might help some..... But anyway please list me some nice old boards i could look for on ebay with good preamps and eq and all the stuff i would need to use....
i only have about 600 to spend but i mean i could save up more but i really need atleast 16 tracks input with preamps and wana be able to send 16 tracks back out to board to mix on thats my only thing....

thanks josh

I just picked up a used Carvin C1644 for $500, new it is about $600. My goal is for live PA use, so I can't say how good the preamps are compared to some of the decent mackies. I will say the sound through the PA is much cleaner than my old board (a very low end peavey which probably wasnt representative of peavey boards). Its a good solid board and there are inserts on every channel so you can get a signal out of each one to your recorder if it has 16 inputs. Eq is basic, high, low, low cut and sweepable mids. I dont think this board would give you a "vintage" sound but it wouldn't be digital either.

Price Range!!!!!

it does say in my post!!!!!
i have 600 too spend and thats about it but i can save more. I just want some brands and models that have good mic pre's and nice anolog sound to them!!!!!

Look for a good deal on a Soundtracs, if you can save up another 400 bucks or so you start getting into a higher level of console.
