"Old Macdonald"? Are You NUTZO???

I heard someone mention the tune "Old Macdonald" in reference to the 1.5 challange as a goof and it got me thinking. Now wouldn't it be novel to challenge you all to do YOUR own version of this "hit" song or similar tune....that EVERYONE knows....I hope, in your own words if you wish...and see what the hell happens? Like totally change the melody line and chord structure. Just a passing idea.

I hesitate to mention this... because it probably WOULDN'T be acceptable to very many people...

...but what if the NEXT challenge was not a time limit thingy, but something where we cover a fellow HR.COM member's song?

No fair re-submitting any past covers.

Must be an original by someone frequenting this board.

Of course, there ain't that many songs... or at least that many we could cover.... probably a bad idea.

Anyone else improve this idea-r?

That idea has merit for sure, and I really like it actually,but my thought was using a "ridiculously pathetic, blatently obviously" known tune.....and see what the members in here can do with it. Doesn't have to be a nursery rhyme, just something real KNOWN, that we can have fun with. I wholeheartidly agree without time restraints. I would love to have a go at "Billy Boy", or something like it....and make it into a "real" song. Kinda like a Pinocchio story...a song from the past that is like wood, and make it "real". (I am not using drugs at the time of this writing)

okay, i didn't take part in the 1.5 challenge but THIS i could see myself doing... i think we need to make it official. i do goofy covers all the time. i just need to know if it's going to be any particular song or if it can be any well known song... i'm in.

actually, i would be into the idea of covering an original song from someone on this board also. i say let's do both, either simulataneously or consecutively...
