For sale - a used Bob's Mod Mk-319. I've upgraded the capacitors and removed the inner screen to give it a more open sound. This Oktava mic works normally. I would characterize its sound as "smooth" & "warm". You might think different but hey...its my best guess.
The low cut filter and -10 dB down switches all work fine. I've etched "Front" on the Russian front of this mic because I kept recording with it backwards. Unlike every other mic in the world (at least the others I've used), the Rewskies mount the switches on the opposite side the singer sings into. I had recorded a number of tracks facing into the switch side by mistake so I etched "front" on the true front as a reminder.
This mic is between "good" to "very good" condition causmetically. The mounting nut has some paint wear as well as some very minor paint wear in a few other places. Its a good beater mic if your looking for another flavor on the big cheap. It comes with its case and mic mount.
I am the original owner, bought at the big Banjo Mart before they dropped the line. All reworks were done in a professional manner and it was never dropped or abused. It is a good (not great) general purpose mic. These mics are getting hard to find now that the Mart no longer carries them. I would like to get $75 PLUS shipping for it. Paypal or money order would be fine. Please email or post any questions. I'm a fast shipper so you'll get it in a reasonable time.

I'm relisting this mic for $65 plus shipping USPS. Send a Private Message if interested.

thanks,

How do the modifications change the sound? I was thinking about getting a 319 or two for drum overheads but I've heard a lot of people say they sound dark and often muddy which isn't the sound I'm looking for in a drum over head. I'm looking for a mic that will capture my bright, piercing cymbals well. Do you think this modded baby will do the trick?

Hardcore,

I would have to so no. I don't think this would be right for a drum overhead. Not unless you would want a less bright cymbal. But...I never really tried this for that purpose either.

Bob
