i love negative rep
> i heard a rumor that oktava has split, and some oktava Mic's are now being
made in china.
>
> is that true?
> how can you tell which ones are made in china, and which in Russia?
Oktava started to outsourse parts/components in china. Bodies for dynamic
microphones and the like.
> do you know what happened to create this split if it's true.
Oktava terminated an agreement with AFM, it's former exclusive distributor,
and has now direct connections with resellers worldwide.
I would not call it a split.
Perhaps you mean the problems they are having with minor shareholders at
home.
Oktava is much more than the microphones. It is also a lot of industrial
real estate in
Tula, most of it presently leased.
Some property may have changed owners.
The main manufacturing units, making microphones, electromagnetic locks,
telephones, public address systems remain whole to best of my knowledge.
The microphone devision in any case remains unsplit. Best regards,
made in china.
