I know that everyone has misgivings about shopping at GC, but I just got a sale flyer announcing that 319's were on sale for $69

Pretty cheap

Yeah I'm going to get one to replace my old one that has had its share of falls from the cheap mic stand I used it with :D

Are these any good? I know nowt about them. I might get someone to buy me one and post it over if they're worth having.

I like it pretty well on some vocals and as a room mic.

I just went to GC yesterday all pumped to get me my first mic and they said they were sold out.... So I asked them if they could call another GC store like 45 minutes away and the salesguy said that the whole northwest region of the US is sold out of that mic. I was soooooo bummed. Guess I'll go back to ebay searches. Hope you guys have better luck than I did.

MK319 are sold out in nearly every Guitar Center

GC fliers state that they're selling the MK319 for $69.99. I'm in CA and all their Bay Area stores are sold out.

While you're there why not pick up some guitar strings so the trip out isn't a waste though?

Brilliant marketing :)

The MK319 is a decent mic. There are some quality components in these mics such as reed switches rather than the mechanical slide switches used in other mics in this price range. They use decent transformers. Our own modest Flatpicker is one of the experts on this mic and wrote the definitive review of it which is at this link: http://www.mojopie.com/mk319.html

Yeah, it was a bummer. The folks at GC broke it to me yesterday. I always miss out on those deals--but I think the one with the GT33s was much better, and would've been perfect for my needs and budget.

Darn. Oh well.

I still like that mic. I keep going back and listening to clips I did with it about a year ago thinking my taste might have changed, and it just keeps sounding as good as ever. It somehow has a full, real sound without being harsh or muddy. Of course that's my opinion on my voice, so as others would say, your mileage may vary...

no, i don't think MF carries these mics cause then everyone would get them online and noone would go to the store to be hasseled by the sales people.

Lol!

You know, maybe they don't sell them online because of the QC issues? Imagine what it would be like for them to deal with the malfunctioning/non-functioning ones being shipped out to people.
