I just went to GC yesterday all pumped to get me my first mic and they said they were sold out.... So I asked them if they could call another GC store like 45 minutes away and the salesguy said that the whole northwest region of the US is sold out of that mic. I was soooooo bummed. Guess I'll go back to ebay searches. Hope you guys have better luck than I did.
The MK319 is a decent mic. There are some quality components in these mics such as reed switches rather than the mechanical slide switches used in other mics in this price range. They use decent transformers. Our own modest Flatpicker is one of the experts on this mic and wrote the definitive review of it which is at this link: http://www.mojopie.com/mk319.html

Yeah, it was a bummer. The folks at GC broke it to me yesterday. I always miss out on those deals--but I think the one with the GT33s was much better, and would've been perfect for my needs and budget.
I still like that mic. I keep going back and listening to clips I did with it about a year ago thinking my taste might have changed, and it just keeps sounding as good as ever. It somehow has a full, real sound without being harsh or muddy. Of course that's my opinion on my voice, so as others would say, your mileage may vary...
You know, maybe they don't sell them online because of the QC issues? Imagine what it would be like for them to deal with the malfunctioning/non-functioning ones being shipped out to people.
