Why would anyone want some gigantic sub-woofers in a studio, when no one else in the world will be able to duplicate the sound that you get there, if they play the recording back on their own system?
Maybe that's why, that's the only place where you can go to get that sound. What did that spec say, low frequency roll-off at 10Hz? Hell, it's hard enough to find monitors that wil roll-off at 40 Hz.
