I was working on this the weeks before the HRC challenge. I think im pretty much finished and satisfied with tracking.

I am very much the mixing noob and very much deaf. I mean I had a click track in the background of my HRC challenge song and I couldn't even detect it soo.....

If you could offer some constructive assistance here I'd really appreciate it. I just cracked open my Cakewalk manual and learned how to apply fx to my tracks in real time. Hahaha, to this point I'd been having to try out something, wait for the progress bar to finish, undo, adjust settings, wait for progress bar, undo, wash, rinse, repeat. THAT JUST SUCKS!! So anyway.

I'm like a blind person when it comes to eq. I hear comments like too much this or too little that, but I'm hoping I can get some specifics here. Like perhaps the instrument in question, the possible bandwidth, and maybe a recommended solution.

Thanks for all your help people. The song is called

Komnetec

Man you make some weird shit! I am hearing a chorusing snare drum like the snare is being played over an existing snare sound.

It's hard to criticise what I do not understand....for all I know you meant it to sound that way.

Yep, you got it. I put two separate snares on there and shifted them slightly to get almost a "roll off" feel to them.

I could call it busy but I don't know if that would make any sense to your style....

Cool song. I like the melody and the delay on the voice. Guitar and bass sound nice and thick. I like the single note line 2nd guitar that comes in. Good tone. Sounds like the drums could be bigger sounding-wierd snare sound-doesnt sound like a snare-or like a snare mixed with a stick hitting a leather seat cushion. Overall the mix works for me-though making the snare and kick more distinct could add alot of power to this.

Man-can't believe you didnt know about real time effects lol. Next thing to get into is envelopes (choose a track click the wave file looking little box-right click wave file and add envelope). With this you can bring things in and out of the mix or pan stuff side to side...Easily!

Anyway I like your song nice work.
