First of all, thank you everyone who has helped so far. I have a revised plan that I have a few questions about. ALSO, NEW BUDGET! YAY. (Upwards of $1500)

-Mixing Board w/ firewire output:
-Will I be able to simulaneously record more than one instrument at once through the mixer into the computer and have each instrument isolated onto a different track on my computer?
-Which mixing board would you suggest for my budget? I figure since the mixer will take place of the cost of a new sound card and mic pre amps.
-Will this setup instead of a good soundcard bottleneck my quality?
-Software:
-Sounds like people are leaning me more towards Sonar instead of cakewalk.
-Microphone(s)
-One good mic for vocals and a couple shures for backup vocals, miking the mesa boogie, etc.
-Moniter/PA?
-What speakers do you suggest I get that would be good for mixing/playing live. Is this possible?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Is the Mackie Onyx 1220 12 Channel a good mixer for the job? I was hoping it would allow me to isolate each input on the mixer to a seperate track on either CEP, sonar or cakewalk.

The Onyx sounds decent for it's price (The EQ's are the best part of this board, I wasn't to impressed with the Pre's), but I haven't heard as to how well the interface works.
