OK I took another go at this one.

I posted this a week ago or so and the guitars where pretty thin.
I tried to thicken them up a little by adding some 250hz.
I also tried to get the song louder. I'm hoping I did not bring out too many uglys by doing it. I hated to compress this as much as I did, but I do want to make it reasonably loud. I mad a couple mix tweeks because of it and may have to make more.

Let me know what you think.

The compression gives it a smooth overall sound/tone - I think it's at a good level. The guitars are good - nice fullness to them. The drums seem a bit distant but I'm not sure that's bad in an acoustic tune. Continue to love your vocals..... I think this is a pretty good mix.....

Thanks Ido1957, I was considering gearing back the BU vox on the second vs and chorus because the compression brought them out (maybe?) too far. I'm leaving them for now and will revisit them later. I'll take another listen to the Drums. My damn right ear is pretty plugged up so I am going to waite till morning.

I think I may have to automate the snare some, I tried to find a happy medium between where it jumps out and where it gets buried but I am not real happy with the quiet parts either.

I'll check ou the guits.

Guitars seem better. Snare could be louder, lead vox could be as well. I really like the sound of the voice, got that 80s thang going, sounds like singing instead of an autotuned, processed mess.

The guitars sound just right when you are singing but not quite right when you're not. What to do or change? I don't know - mayhap an extra guitar playing a different strum/riff to add a counter point or contrast?
I like the vox just where they are. Good b/vox for my ears.

None of the above is a great issue as the song sounds really good at present. BUT in the interests of achieving potential the other comments made on this thread are spot on so tweak a little.

Sorry that me server is giving you fit's. The file is a 320kbps.. The file was not made as a streram but the free version of quicktime will treat it as a stream. That's the only reason I have quick time. You may want to try loading it. What I do is set it so it is only the primary program for Mac file extentions. It still opens mp3's as streams even when they are not set up that way. I don't know why windows media player won't.

That's a cross stick/rim shot snare you're hearing.

On the guit. Ya the begining where it's out there alone still bugs me a bit, but it's better. Next step would be re-record it. I did another song and mic'ed it ay the 16th fret and it sounded much fuller. It's a thin guitar.

No problem. I have a couple issues to resolve on this that I won't be able too today either. Hope to get a chance next week or something
I'm not liking the limiting I did after the multiband comp. Screwing with my mix I am going to try a softer comp plug on it before I start tweeking the mix to match the limiting.
