Just like to say Rich that I know NOTHING about golf save that Jezzer always comments about cars he reviews whether or not the boot (trunk) is big enough fro a set of golf bats.

We have a golf club who won't release a tiny parcel of land and the result is a very long avenue has to finish in 50mtrs of narrow one way. That narrow part where the Ave meets St Davids Road is one way because the club won't sell a few mtrs to widen it.
If that were MY land the council would have grabbed it years ago I can only conclude that many councilors are keen golfers!

I know I'm setting myself up for ridicule but I'm still using a digital recorder and import tracks into Power Tracks DAW. When I first started digital recording, latency was an issue for me. I got a hold of an MR8 with the 40GB hard drive and use that for tracking eliminating the latency issue. It's a process that some may think adds extra steps but it works for me. All imported tracks are saved in folders so if something goes wrong in the mix, I can always get the original track back that's in the folder. Punch ins are easy with the MR8 as it has an option to hook up an A/B switch which I can hold in my hand for vocal punch ins and as a footswitch for guitar, etc...

Looks to me like someone just built their residences too close to the golf course. They don't need all that back yard! And a bicycle path! Who rides bicycles anymore?!? ?

Seriously, that looks like a very nice course. I took up golf because I was getting no exercise years ago. The game seems like it shouldn't be that hard, but it can humble you really quickly. I got hooked and now I will play 2 to 4 times a week. With the metro golf pass, it costs me around $8 to walk. I probably only used a cart on 3 or 4 rounds last year. I walk the rest, and we have courses with a lot of steep hills.

PJ, I've got standalone recorders and they have their place. Most of the time, I track straight to Reaper, but occasionally, the R24 is right there and set up. It's so easy to just plug in and hit record.

Ridicule is no obstacle to the person using ancient tech that knows what they're doing and how to utilize it to their advantage.
I use a digital standalone and I don't even dump the tracks to computer. Everyone has their way and no way, in my opinion, is worthy of criticism until the individual concerned fancies a change. And then, only they have the right to criticize.
