Say for example I wanted to build my own extension speaker cabinate for recording so my combo doesn't rattle on recordings. I am thinking of just getting one 12" 25watt Greenback, but I might want to also hookup a second 10" next to it (or have a seperate cab further away for seperation).

How do I figure what ohm speakers to get if I have two hooked up at once?

My Fender ProJr. outputs at 8ohms. If I just use one speaker at a time, I have no problems, but If I want to use two at once, do I get two 16 ohm speakers or two 4 ohm speakers?

I'll ask this later. I don't feel like going to look at how that thing is rigged. :D

Ohms is a mantra which is a technique used by eastern religions.

You can use two 4 ohm speakers wired in series, or two 16 ohms wired in parallel. Either gives 8 ohms impedance to the amp. I don't know if there is an advantage to one over the other. Just make sure the polarities of the speakers are appropriate - that is, for series wire neg to pos between speakers, and the amp to the left-over neg and pos terminals. For parallel, wire both negs together, and both pos together, and the amp to neg and pos of either speaker.
The problem will be if you want to use either speaker alone you will have either 4 ohms, which your amp may not be able to support, or 16 ohms, which will give you less power and volume.

Lot of useful information in that thread. I would like to be stupid for a moment and ask about my setup as just a straight up question and hope I'm not making anybody rehash anything. (I'm at work right now and this day is turning me into a mega-dipshit...)

Marshall VS100 head, 100 watts, 4 ohms, two speaker output jacks.

Behringer 412S stereo cab, 400 watts, 8 ohms with mono/stereo switch and two speaker input jacks. (yeah, I know...I probably have guitar picks that are worth more than my whole rig)

Hook it together on paper, and please feel absolutely free to yell at me for not figuring this out from the other threads. Do I plug into both jacks or just one? Do I run the cab in mono or stereo? Why is there air?

One speaker cable from the speaker output on the amp to the cabinet in mono mode. You are not going to damage anything this way, you just won't get the max power out of the amp. Don't worry, it will be loud enough.

Make sure you use speaker cable.
