I currently have a Behringer C-1 LDC. And Im currently using it as my Drum Overhead. My question is, would it be better to have a LDC Condenser OH ? My friend's willing to take this from me and im planning on getting a Shure PG81 for my Overheads. I really dont know if im doing a good decision here. any tips will be appreciated :D

The Shure PG series is very nice but, unless you are close-miking multiple pieces like toms, you might want to stick with LDC for overhead miking.

I'm not sure what innobidova was implying by there but it does not matter if the OH mics are SD or LD as far as picking up toms or what ever. That would have much more to do with the pick up pattern of the mic .... omni, cardiod, or hypercardiod .... and at least equally importantly ... mic placement.

That being said ..... I like to use my LD tube condesers as overheads ..... and I do like the sound for most apps ..... but I aslo dont have a good set of matched SD condensers so thats also out of neccesity.

Not that you cant do it with one mic.

The Sure SM81 (the better version of the PG81) is a popular OH mic.

If you had one of each it would give you maximum flexibility.
