man this sounds great..Drums are EXCELLENT!! Howd you record em?
Thanx a lot Klutzee. I record my drums pretty simply.

4 mics:

AKG D-112 on kik.
SM 57 on snare
2X AKG C1000s for overheads.

I EQ the overheads a very little bit, but do nothing else to them. I EQ and compress the kik and snare. The only other thing I do is add reverb to the snare and overheads.

Great song. URE = Usual Rami Excellence. I like the drums on this one much better than previous tunes. Kick sounds tuff!!! I always said I thought you should have your hihats and cymbals a little more prominent and it seems that you have that here. Me likey the balance of the kit.

I thought the lead solo could be a little more upfront, but it works where it's at, too.

Thanks for sharing your songs with us.
Thanx for listening Chili. I might have brought up the overheads in my mixes, but it was never a conscious decision. I've probably just sub-consciously remembered a lot of comments and advice given on earlier songs. That's why we post tunes here. To get other people's ears in on the process.

The sound is great and the arrangement works. The only thing that draws attention is that guitar off to the left that seems a bit small and lonely in the beginning. Later on, you fill it out during the guitar solo with stuff over to the right and some delay or verb (how do you do that?). But when it's playing all on its onesie over on the left while EVERYTHING ELSE is so big and ballsy, it's sort out of its league. It's a fine tune, but think about it for the future. In the meantime, if it was me, I'd boost that leftie guitar a dB when it's playing against the vocal. It wants to be heard.
Thanx man. Your comments are cool because I actually turned that guitar down right before mixing down. I found it over-powered the vocal. I actually do have a second guitar coming out of the right side, doubling what he riff on the left is doing. But maybe I should bring it up a bit during the rest of the song. I only really bring it up during the solo, as you noticed. To answer your question I have a long delay and a lot of reverb on the guitars in the solo. BUt the solo itself is also doubled (played twice) as is the main riff for the whole song.

Thanx for the advie. I'll definitely consider bringing up the doubled guitar on the right for the main riff.

Way good.

Lots of interest in the arrangement.

Nice, clear mix, EQ-ing, space, vox.

Drums are killer, playing and sound.

Wish I could do that.

Thanx Jeff. You can definitely do that. I don't always comment on your stuff, but I always listen to it, and I never have any advice to give. But you're stuff iis always beyond top notch.

Thanks, that's useful.

Sounds great Rami. Love the kick and bass relationship. Thumpy and tight. Everything sounds really good to me. Well done, bro. :)

Aw man! You're too mellow from your vacation.

Can you comment again in a few days? :D

Fuck you! It sucks shit, you gay canadian bastardo! :D

No, for real though, this was the first thing I listened to since being back from the peace and quiet of two weeks on the beach. My ears can't be any fresher. Sounds good to me. I'll listen again later. :D
