Hey guys!
I am looking to buy a mid-low range Octpre in the next few days, and was wondering if any of you had personal experience using the equipment I am looking at. If so, I would love some feedback as to what to purchase and why! My setup is as follows:
MOTU 828mkII (used with Digital Performer) as interface
Audix D6 kick mic
Audix i5 snare
2 M-audio pulsar II SDCs as OHs
Strongly consider an SM57 for the near future.
Currently with my set-up the mics sound great on drums using a dual channel preamp (which I just returned to the store) and my MKII has two preamps, however as I am purchasing more mics soon, I want to get an octpre. I am considering the following:
- PreSonus Digimax FS ($600)
- Focusrite Octpre MKII ($500)
- M-Audio Octane ($600)
- ART Tubefire F8 ($400)
- M-Audio Profire 2626 ($700)
- Behringer ADA800 ($200)....I am not considering this as much as the others
I was advised to stay away from the Presonus Digimax D8 but if anyone has insight on that unit too I would love to hear it.
Thanks for the help!
