Just for instruments. Mainly sm57's for guitars and some for drums.

These will go to the m audio 1814 interface.

What would you pick fo rhaving better pre's?

thanks

Are you using ADAT? the OCtopre doesn't have it, but the Octopre LE does... so maybe your should specify which you want. The Octopre has compressors on each channel while the LE and Octane do not. Also, The Octopre and Octane/LE are different price ranges - the octopre is 800 while the Octane and LE are 600.

From what my ears heard when I auditioned the LE and the Octane I liked the Octane better. I also liked the MS matrix option that the Octane had as well. Overall I would pick the Octane over the LE. That being said, I haven't used the Octopre with the comps... I wonder what it's like and I can see it being useful to have the Compression on each channel.

I can buy at the most the octopre.

What are the advantages of ADAT?

I would be able to connect that to my M audio 1814 interface right?
