Gek, yes it was released on CD - I bought it about 3 years ago:

825 220-2 BEE GEES - BEE GEES' 1st Ploydor

Hey, they even managed to do the apostrophe of posession correctly!!!
No apparent "remastering" but it certainly doesn't sound like the poor quality transfers the big companies did in their rush to get old product out to be re purchased in the new format through the 1st 10 years of CD production.
If it's not available send me a PM.

Please see my post to Gecko for additional, updated releases.

Cheers,
Joseph

Joseph - yep 1st from 1967.
My fav from that album - hmm, that's a hard one - nice baroque pop psych collection that it is - Holiday maybe but it is full of hits & potential hits isn't it!
If DavidK was still around he might have had ideas for a baroque pop arrangement - I hope he posts something new soon.

I strongly agree, Ray. The writing of the Gibbs has always amazed me and served as a great inspiration for my own songwriting. I have all of their original material from Austrailia too. They had dozens of songs and a few albums from those days prior to their return to England. Plus, they composed many songs for others in Oz too. I have those as well.

Regarding 1st, I mentioned One Minute Woman, but Holiday, To Love Somebody, Red Chair, Fade Away, and Please Read Me come immediately to mind. I don't think there is a bad track on 1st.

Joseph

Joseph,
do you have:
Assault the Vaults
Rare Australian Cover Versions of the
Brothers Gibb
Festival D26252 on the Spin label?
I just received a note from my mate Eric in Louisiana - his long time friend's dad (yeah, I know brother's mother's sister's butcher's cousin's friend etc) was a jazz band leader of some renown & backed the B.G.s at some stage in the 60's.
ALSO the drummer in the BG band was a local hero who starred in the Smiley series of movies as a nipper.
Ain't trivia grand?

Yes! Great stuff! My favorite tracks there are...

Jenny Bradley - Who's Been Writing On The Wall (Barry Gibb)
Jenny Bradley - Chubby (Barry Gibb)
Sandy Summers - A Girl Needs To Love (Barry Gibb)

There has been talk of a second release of covers of more Gibb-penned songs from the 60s by Oz artists. I'll keep you apprised if I hear anything else related to that project.

Cheers,
Joseph
