We just completed our latest ELP cover. This one is Nutrocker from their Pix@Exhib album.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Please excuse midi drums. We havent found a drummer yet. In fact, if anyone wishes to play drums over this or our other covers, just write me. We are looking for vocalists too.

Happy Holidays everyone!

JU-HU mary christmas.
This is just great man, really nice piano and good drum programming, fat bass and just really great allover.
very good version.
congrats. :)

Excellent keyboards and bass playing... good drums especially during the bass solo part. Mix is great. Really hot tune - perfect for the Holiday Season. :D

Thanks guys...much appreciated. Bass was fun on this. I really beat the shit out of it. Lotsa tapping. Dave did an awesome job on the keys too. Real raunchy.

Nak...did you get the track for From The Beginning? Im not sure if the email made it.

Excellent job here. Festive and enjoyable with tight playing :) :)

Whoever is playing keyboards there needs a pat on the back. Not from me though, because I doubt anybody else here lives in wisconsin.

That would be ma-man David Presley. We have a page setup on myspace. Here's a link

He and I met on a friend's website, Tommy Farese. Tommy was the drummer in my old band. He is currently on tour as a vocalist with Trans Siberian Orchestra.

We met there quite by accident. As it turns out, we are both die-hard ELP fans. Match made in heaven.

Yeah, that's some great keyboard playing. Have to laugh because the yells near the end gave me a jolt... I thought it was someone in the house here. :D

Tim

Thanks Tim. Coming from you that means a lot.

Yes, my wife told me that both my cats jumped three feet into the air when I let out that first yell. :)

I've been getting into the spirit here at work cranking this one out over the day. I agree with all the compliments on the keys. Wish I could do that! And the cool bass. Sounds really lively. And now I know the name of that song I've heard a zillion times. Is that the drum programmer yelling "Yeah - that'll do!" near the end? :)

Thanks

aspiring,
Thanks man....

Actually I did the yell while recording the bass guitar in the final section. I put it in there as a joke. I had this head banging thing going on there...I love to play this tune on bass. I really get into it. On ELP's live version someone in the audience (or on stage im not sure) starts yelling at that exact spot in the song. I was gonna remove it but we decided to keep it in for fun. Perhaps I should crank down the volume a little :)

Yes, David did an outstanding job on the keyboards for this track. If you wanna hear David crank again, listen to our last ELP track. Incredible job there too.

Hey, good job!

I like this even better than the hoedown. The drums? I feel your pain :p

For me, you caught the vibe better on this than the Hoedown! It's a lil funner, not quite as quantized and the keyboard misses a few notes, which is actually a good thing in this case.

If you ever want to do some non-emulative ELP, give me a PM and I will play electric or real violin on it. I like doing progressive covers too, but in an abstract fashion.

Nice job.

Yes, Nutrocker should have a live feel to it, as the only recorded version that I know of was live. It is a raunchy blues jam. Not so with all ELP songs. Palmer sometimes played live with headphones with a metronome ticking so keep him on time with the myriad of patches keyed in by Emo's sound guy. I think Hoedown sounds better mechanical. Tonight I was practicing for one of our next recordings, Romeo and Juliet. It is exactly 88bpm throughout the song. There are many examples.

Im with you though...there are several that dont, and sound better not so mechanical.

One of my all time fav bands. One of my old bands we did a few ELP tunes. Good cover on a difficult tune.

Cool tnes. Nutrocker....Excellent playing. Even the drums sound pretty good. That piano is cool. Nice sounds, all around.

Hoedown....Cool sounds again. Just puts a smile on your face. Very fun tune. Well done, and good playing again. Even the programmed drums fit.
Nice.

I lost my old web site, so we moved the tunes to my new one.
