Ntrack and Motu problems

I just got a Motu HD192 with the PCI-424 card. I have no problem with playback using either WDM or ASIO drivers, but recording does not work well with either. With WDM, I'm getting the old track-offset problem. With ASIO, if I try recording 7 tracks of of 96K 24bit over an existing 7 tracks (these numbers just happen to be what I'm testing with), the playback skips every 15secs or so.

With Cubase, using the same ASIO drivers, I can successfully record up to 30 something simultaneous tracks before cubase tells me my system is ovleroading.

Is anyone out there using the HD192 or any other PCI-424 based motu interface with NTrack?

In n-Tracks preferences go to options, then deselect both options for "Use system time for". Also, you may try playing with the buffer settings. Do several test recordings at different buffer settings. You should be able to find a happy medium between high and low settings.

from what I can tell, you can't change buffer setting on NTrack when using ASIO drivers. Doing so will cause the program to crash. I have the highest buffer settings selected on PCI-424 control panel.

You are correct ASIO buffers are set via MOTU control panel... Also Highest buffers aren't always the way to go .... Try several different settings.

You might also try doing a quick defrag of your drives. Unless you have already done so.
