NTK Live (well almost) am I insane?

I love the sound of my Rode NTK but I have a real problem using it "live" (well in my basement really). I am playing really quiet because it feeds back at even the lowest volumes. It seems to feedback the most when I turn up the drum machine (especially cymbals).

I use an Alesis Studio 24 into an ART power amp into Yorkville floor monitors. I play electric guitar through a Marshall half stack. I usually run everything through the board with the Marshall on standby just using the record out on the back. I don't have an eq but I find cranking down at 1.8 hz on the NTK helps but sucks out some tone.

I have an SM58 which I can use if I want to play louder but I really want to use my NTK because it is so much smoother.

I thought years ago that condensers were all they ever used live but maybe I'm wrong.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Two options:
1. Buy a condensor mic designed for live use.
2. Use the SM58, you freaking dope.

Ok so after looking around I found a few condenser mikes that are made for live applications:
Neumann KMS105
Rode S1
Electrovoice RE410
Electrovoice Co11
Audio-Technica Artist Elite AE3300
Shure BETA87A
others?

As my local music store doesn't carry any of these I can't try them out so I am hoping someone out there has used one of these and can lend some insight into whether it is worth buying.

Thanks G

i always try to use some baffle or partitin if i use a condensor live.
way too live for overheads.

As I said, Sennheiser E865 and AT AE3300. The E865 is Sting's microphone of choice, and the AE3300 has the capsule from the AT4033, if that means anything to you. I would be extremely confident with either of these, and they're not expensive.
