I see a lot of us here use nowhere radio.

I've been posting music out on my blogspot site, but it would be nice to have a little more pro front end.

What do you guys who use it think of Nowhere? Cool features? Gripes?

Jay

Funny you should mention this right now.

I love that people can post 2 or 3 songs for free, because there are some people here who won't listen to tunes on MP3.com or Soundclick, etc.

I love the convenience of being able to immediately update files and post files without any kind of a waiting/screening process.

The streaming has not been very good FROM NWR lately, which I think is a gear issue, but I download every song anyway, so it's not an issue for me.

The only thing I don't like about it is the use of the word "Discography," lol. It confuses my mother. :D :D. I'd like a link to just say "HEAR MUSIC BY THIS ARTIST" or something...then the album/singles option.

Oh yeah, and I like Waldo.

I had to vote #5 because I left out:

6 - I have no freakin' idea, but I have to vote to see the poll results.

hehehhee...nice one

For the money, there is nothing I have seen that comes close to NWR in terms of ease of use, speed of use, etc. I do have my gripes, but they're minor. I have definitely gotten my money's worth.

I dig it...

I have my minor gripes aboot the GUI (but that's primarily because I work with web portals for a living and it's my job to tell people what aspects of their website aren't user-friendly enough), but aside from piddly little "It would be nice if..." changes, I think it's pretty darn handy.

I Love NWR... it's a bit slow these days, But I won't complain.. I am a paying customer, but the price is right!

I have to agree with Chris on the discography thing...

In fact I think I brought it up to Waldo once, on his chat way back........ To me, and the few people I have talked to about the matter, one would naturally think discography is just a listing of the music that has been released....

It is a tad confusing for someone who has never been on the site, and I would think it would be more instinctive for a person to press a "listen to this artists music" button.

And, then get taken to the singles/albums page...

But either way... Waldo's the boss, and I love what he does so I will shut up..:D

All the gripes you got are solved in NWR4, but I don't have what's needed to put it to that level.

I think NWR is by far the best sie of its type. I'm about the shift to the paid membership just because I'd like to make a contribution to an enterprise that I consider to be so worthy of support.

It's the best site around as far as ease of use goes, for the listener and the musician.

Im with Chris on the streaming issue. It hasnt been great but Waldo has to have cash to make things run perfect all the time.I cant complain.Im not a paying member because I dont have enough material to post yet, but Im thinking of paying for a year whether I use the space or not just for the simplpe fact that I download a LOT of music off the site that gives me a lot of satisfaction.Bandwidth is NOT free.

I have broadband and I download everything like Chris mentioned so the streaming thing(which isnt a problem all the time)doesnt bother me.

Uploading is instantaneous and thats a BIG plus.

Waldo answers e-mails or posts here in the forums usually quicker than you can refresh the page.Thats another BIG plus.

Lets all pray that Waldo gets some serious cashflow to pay his bills and give him the ability to run nowhereradio at peak efficiency.

I also download everything, so the streaming issues don't bother me anymore..

Unlike some of the other bumb sites out there, you can put high quality files instead of 128.. It's easier to get mix feedback when the sound is closer to the original..

Also, Waldo is one of the coolest cats you could ever deal with..

so give him some money!!

:D

seriously!

NWR rocks. I hate having to become a member at mp3 just to hear a tune. You post a tune at NWR it's instantly on your site no fuss no muss no spam.

Cool logo.

Oh, PS, anyone with gripes that I haven't addressed at some point, or haven't mentioned them to me, PLEASE post them in the NWR forums so that I can address them in NWR4.

Many of the big issues already have been addressed, but little things can add up.

I may release NWR4 without a bunch of features in a month or so if I can't fund new lines, it may help speed issues and such a bit as the new system is more efficient, but we'll see...

I love it. Just discovered it by coming here. I will be buying the unlimited space as soon as I get my next song ready to post (besides I'm a little short ATM). I love the speed of posting your stuff out there. And I have too started just downloading everything because I'm learning fast that most of the stuff you guys do is a keeper anyway.

I am a member at mp3. com and I'm not a huge fan of it. And now they are going to make you pay to have more than 3 songs on there at 128kbps.

Nice job Waldo. I'll be coming with at least a little financial support in the near future. Well worth it IMO.

If you have ever waited a month for your stuff to post on MP3.com, then you will get a better appreciation of what NWR has to offer. I am a paying customer of theirs and I support Waldo 100% Whenever I have had any kind of issue all I have had to do was email and he solved it for me FAST.

theres your answer right there 3 posts up....thats the guy the owns it thats the guy that runs it..and he personally came in here to take part in this discussion.....get that anywhere else?....a mere 10 minutes after you post a question???...

I *heart* Nowhere Radio

Until now, I've pretty much only listened to commercial music... But I'm having a great time listening to people's tunes from this forum. As a beginning musician and recorder, I find it inspiring to see what a great job *ordinary* folks can do :)

I have nothing against Nowhere at all, although I generally stream which can be a problem. I accept the answer to that is to download. There's lots out there and certainly Soundclick when it works is great and also Free. I ended up on Ampcast simply because, like Nowhere and Soundclick, there are no scam boxes, instant up-load etc. Downside is they have just announced their fees are going up to just over 90 Bucks.
My renewal is not due till the end of the year and then I will jump.
In fairness to Waldo he is available and visible. That fact alone is worth giving him support.
I just hope that providing a site that does not require you to fill in scam boxes by registering is acceptable to everyone.

I think Nowhere is the best site on the net, hands down!!

Thank God for Waldo!!!
