The price difference of these racks are only $300. Im looking to add virtual analog synthesis to my set up which consists of a Motif, MPC, Proteus and Mo Phatt. Do the options that the lead offer outway the $300 price diff. I have played both and like both. I am looking for mainly tweakability and some phatt basslines

I've had my MS2000 for about two years and you couldn't get it from me by force. I love that crazy synth. I've played the Nord but I never really had the time to delve too far into the sound creation options of it. I know that some of my favorite sounds on rock albums are Nord sounds.

The lead2 is probably the most used on stage and widely recorded va synth out there. However if it's fat basslines you need I think I'd steer you towards the korg. I don't have a lead2 to compare with, but I have a lead3... It cost twice as much as the korg, but if I had to give one up, as hard as it would be, I'd probably keep the korg.

Mastermindzzz,

maybe you should check the Korg Microkorg out, too. I had a MS2000r & sold it so I could get a microkorg and a fat head of cabbage. Serves my purposes quite nicely (basslines and such). I loved my MS, but again, the micro joint fit the bill just right for me. Although, for only a 100 dollar price difference, I guess the rack MS2000 ain't a bad deal. I kinda like the table top goodies (microkorg), too, so...

I've actually seen both units for SELL for reasonable used prices on Ebay, too.
