Noob Needs help!Where to Start

My band has just purchased a Behringer EUROPOWER PMH3000. The Behringer website has little information on how to use this mixer. Does anyone know where I can find beginners info on mixer and what to do and look for when mixing?

For example,What level or levels should your input gain be set to ?Do I use the LED lights to give me any indication.

In a nutshell, what are the basics fuctions and how do they work(control them)?

This is from the manual for the Soundcraft M-series mixers, but it has a pretty good description of how to set up mixers in general starting on page 23.
