Hi guys I'm new to this wonderful place. I mostly do regional mexican music called banda sinaloense.

The gear I have are ,akg 414, sm57, shure, beta ,apogee rosette 800 neve portico 5033 (pair) Avalon 737 and Avalon 747 protools le 7.3 with a control 24. I have a very small room where I record in. it's like 4x8 with a slanted roof!! So my room is not the greatest but I got to work with what I got!

Now Im trying to mix my session like these cats in Los mochis sinaloa Mexico (Hugos Digital) they are number 1 for this type of music.

I actually went and recorded Sousa for some cats here in LA they do most of the banda recording here, but they send the sessions out to mochis also. an I asked them what they used to record and they record everything with the akg 414. Like the trumpets trombones clarinets Sousa alto horn , and sm 57 for snares and timbales hihats crash. And a shure beta for the bass drum so I got the mics they use to record.

They were running everything through a focus rite red and universal audio preamp. I use the neves and Avalon. That's the only different thing I got from them.

When they recorded trumpets they recorded to the side of the mic also for the trombone and sousa!

But my question is how can I achieve that sound and I know lots of you guys here are not going to like it but that is the style. Loud and brute!!

Or if any one has any suggestion on how to eq the trumpet trombone clarinet sousaphone alto horn timbales snare. I want it like the demo here at least close to it
Thanx so much!!
