I got sum noise in my ''studio'' its a weird constant buzz.It shows up when I turn on a junk marshall MG100 head and also through my main pa power amp [soundcraft...I think.. 30000 ].The noise sounds the same out of bolth amps, its a little louder through the soundcraft due to the no master volume,I assume.I hope there is a quick fix for this.oooh ....and cheap. This is my first post so go ez. Some other objectives and info;I mainly use the room for practice with my band.We sometimes record to get an idea of song parts and for a little web site for the band. We are not planning on a competative market sound, but would like to get rid of some annoying buzz.I do have flourencent lighting in the room but still hear the buzz when light are off.The two amps mentioned are the only ones that cause issues.thanx ,jt .

You could try a power bar that has some kind of noise suppression.. Does the Marshall have the buzz with no guitar plugged in? My Marshall is dead quiet until I plug in my Strat and then it buzzes (Strats are notoriously noisy).
Soundcraft is a pretty good brand - I'm surprised it has buzz... So you live near any power lines or radio towers?

We are running a tele on the mg.The soundcraft is pretty old,it came out of an old theater they turned into a nightclub. I have three phase lines going through my alley.Across the alley is a car dealership that takes up the other half of my block. What is a power bar?Are you talking about a rack unit like a fuman or I see monster makes something similar but it has gold letters or something.

I assume you've been over the other possibilities, like checking cables, ground, different outlets, etc. Does the sound change when you move the guitar or amp?

Are you using the power amp to power a PA, or something else?

Tried other outs and cords also moved things a bit.The main amp Im concerned about is the power amp cause I also run it live. Its always had a hum/buzz to it at diff bars and clubs.Other than alittle noise, the amp has been a great performer.I was just hoping I could buy a magic thingamajigger to solve my problems.I'll probly see an infomertial soon:laughings:Would like to bring it to someone knowledgeable but I'm over an hour away from any reputable dealers.Even then, not sure if anything can be done.jt PS how do I get an avatar that dosnt look queer?

how do I get an avatar that dosnt look queer?

Why do you have a problem attracting queer avatars ?

If you don't like what's in the stock I believe you can import a photo or such.
maybe to do so you need a certain amount of post? but I'm not sure I like what I found for now.

Your buzzing (Has to be a 60 cycle hum) has to be a grounding problem are you in an old/new commercial building? Be sure all of your out lets lead back to the same breaker box that will insure the same ground, if not, plug into only the ones that do go back to a common box.

For I don't believe that a cheapo hum eliminator will help.

That car dealership has it those large quarts halogen street lamps over all of it's cars just buzzing away?

This is not a very good idea but try lifting the ground on the Soundcraft to see if the buzz goes away.

Do you live any where near the Bermuda triangle?

But if nothing else electrical (like the bass amp etc.)buzzes, than those two items need to be serviced.

Do they still buzz when turned down some?

Get the amp serviced. Common cause for hum/buzz is a bad or weak filter, It's an easy fix but will likely cost you $100 (mostly labor, the parts are fairly cheap) or more for the servicing.
