No sound?

Hey,

I'm running an art dual pre amp through the usb to my laptop.
I have an MXL v63m mic plugged into the preamp.

I'm not getting any sound whatsoever. Please help!

yes the phantom power is on, but it is not tracking.

If the Preamp Power button is ON in the back of the unit along with the Phantom Power...does the green Signal light on the preamp come on when you sing/talk into the mic?

What is powering the preamp & phantom power...the USB power, a 9 volt battery or the optional 12V external power supply (which would be my best choice)...?

If all is on and you DO get the green signal light to come on...then something is not set at your computer/DAW software to "see" that signal.

the power is on, the phantom is on, im powered by both the usb and an 12v but when i sing into the mic, nothing happens. the green light does not light up.

i have no idea what to do with it.

i've used a different preamp and mic with this laptop before and never had a problem, but cannot get this one to work.

Either the mic or preamp is defective. But is the Art a AD/DA converter?
