Cakewalk 9.0 crashed while I was trying to do some mass velocity changes. After I rebooted the app, there was no more sound from my midi file when I pressed Play (it was a drum track I was working on).
After trying a whole bunch of things I lucked out and found the problem was the Volume Control under SW Synth in the Windows Volume Control.
So if you have ever have a volume problem try that....
