no reverb

Hi Guys!
I'm back with a new problem. Bought a new amp. Trying to record my guitar thru 424. It records, but no reverb coming thru. Sounds like I'm not using reverb but have it turned up. On this new amp for some reason cannot get signal on 424 when I plug into line/ instr. on front of amp. Have to plug into instrument insert on the back of amp but not getting reverb sound. Do you think it's the amp or maybe something on the 424. I can't seem to remember which way all the monitor switches go.

are you plugging guitar into amp first, or are you plugging guitar into input on 424 and then trying to use the effects loop on 424?
In your 424 manual it shows how to run effects loop from 424 to amp to get reverb effect.I had to connect the mono send and stereo send on my amp to mono/stereo inputs on 424, then connect one cord from mono return on amp to effects send on 424. it worked for me. Also you have to bring in the effect on 424 by turning effects1 or 2 knobs to desired level on 424. hope this helps.
