Anyone saying its easy to record and/or mix any specific genre, without actually having experience with it, or having only minimal experience with the humps around the way.. Is ignorant. Period.
I've done sound design for tons of major hip hop releases & major producers, (bangin-beats.com).
Its easy to say, 'how hard is it to sequence samples?'
But the fact is, to do it well enough to: A) Make a great living & B) gain the acceptance of your audience.. Is no easy task.
Anyone on here who argues this point is full of shit. If they believed in their heart it was so easy.. They'd cash right in and make a million bucks.. Fact is, when you have humps from around the way in your lab, sure, piece of cake. There isnt an A&R schmuck over your shoulder in the studio & your project isnt being presented for consideration for a major release. It isn't being white labeled & distributed to every record pool & there arent street teams in the top US markets pushing your work.
The real world of working IN this business (not IN your hometown local recording spot) is a whole lot different.
-2 cents from someone who actually respects the hard work people put into their craft, whatever it may be.
