No Fun

Recorded this yesterday while banned. In light of recent events and the way this place has generally devolved into cluelessness, it sums up my feelings pretty well. Time elapsed - 4 hours from "Hmmm, I'm bored, I think I'll record a Stooges cover" to this first and only mix so far.

No Fun

Any comments/critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Sennheiser 600 HD headphones. I think that the cymbals to the right create a bit of a sizzle with the guitar. On themselves, the guitars sound really powerful and clear.
The hi-hat is going sssssshhhhh to me.

The handclaps are pretty aggressive I guess but I don't find them distracting.
 
In your face vocals, bright, shiny cymbals (might be what Schwarz is talking about), good bass, great drums as always. SG lead or different tone than normal? Doesn't sound like your normal LP sound.

There is no open hi hat on this song. During the verses it's closed, and the rest of the time I'm bashing on a brutally washy nasty 20" Paiste RUDE crash/ride. It's a savage beast. To my ears, the hats and cymbals are fine, if anything, I don't like the reverb impulse I used for the drum kit on the whole. It does sound a little too washy. But this is just the first mix and there's very little EQ anywhere. I can tweak if necessary.

Thanks dude. That is the Golden Les Paul for all 3 guitar tracks. Left rhythm is through a Plexi into Greenbacks, right rhythm is through a JCM 800 into vintage G12-65s, and the "lead" is through the Plexi/Greenbacks again but with Crybaby Wah and Boss Flanger in front. The lead is basically just loud noise. :laughings:
