You're right about that, it wouldn't sound too cool. But then again, you wouldn't want to record all tracks in stereo and on the ones that you do record in stereo, if they're lop sided in the sense that they're all heavy to one side, a couple of thoughts come to mind. The first is, somethings wrong. If you record say, a keyboard in stereo, I wouldn't imagine that it would be 75% left and 25% right info. Now if it was and I was convinced that that's the way it was supposed to be, I'd take any additional tracks that were like this and re-pan them so that pass #1 is 75% left and 25% right, pass #2 is 75% right and 25%left and so on to try and build some symmetry, ya know what I mean? Also things like bass or secondary parts I would not record in stereo as these I'd either be panning to the center or to the left or right a bit. None of this is an absolute truth as there are none in music anyway but just the way I approach a song. YMMV.
