New Guitar Day was yesterday. UPS brang me a SG! The new 60s Tribute. This was a Musicians Friend return. It's in good shape, a few scratches. Gibson QC ain't that hot although maybe these stripper finishes are supposed to have streaks/light areas. I'm not big on cosmetics so it's no biggie. I always wanted an SG and I love P90s so I'll keep this one. I need to set it up better, action's a bit high and I like 9.5s - I imagine it's got 10s on it now. Price was very good - $640 shipped. Plays okay and will be better and it's got a nice tone and good sustain.
New Amp Day was unexpected. I keep my eye on Craigslist for reasonable deals and this Marshall 1987x came up for $775. He had it up twice before at $900 and then $825. It's got some dings and no name plate but it's all Marshall tone monster and fresh tubes. I always wanted one so what the hell - these are usually a grand. Of course the guy wanted $1000 with the Hot Plate but I managed to walk out of there after I laid all I had on me out - $980. Close enough I guess.
So now I'm fuckin' broke but the GAS has been satisfied and I've got some new shit to mess with.
