Guitar too bright? Thanks!
Best,
Kev-
In the intro at :15-:16 there's some kind of breakup that sounds too driven. Really good tune. Like the play between the mellow vocal and the bright guitars.
Hi there,
Vocals sound fine to me but the guitar is, indeed, a bit too bright.
I guess I'm listening to the updated mix? It's not making me cringe or anything like that, but I'd have the guitar warmer sounding.
The harmonies are really nice, but I'm not sure about the first few words when the harmony comes in for the first time at 1:30 ish.
Nice track. Thanks for sharing.![]()
Great harmonies! Good job all around. I do hear some room/air at the beginning, but nothing too bad. There is also a sound like around 2:30 that doesn't sound like it should be there in the background. Like a paper shuffle or something.
I thought it came out really nice sounding. Guitar too bright or not I think it works well. It's personal preference I guess.
edit...
I don't hear any warble or anything like other have mentioned, just the intro has some kind of static sound like a TV with no channel to connect to lol. It fades out quickly enough. Listening on crappy computer speaker though.![]()
Lol ... great ears, bud. It's my wife running the sink downstairs at the very beginning of the piece. I record under "challenging" conditions at the top of the stairway leading to the kitchen.
I did bring the top down quite a bit in the newest mix (now up), so I hope I've now got everything dialed in just right.
I think it sounds quite a bit better now.
The guitar sounds a little boxy now, but not real bad. I'd probably leave it alone. I can still hear you moving at 2:03. Not sure if anything can be done with that. What kind of reverb are you using on the guitar? Something about it bugs me slightly, but I can't put my finger on it.
