newbie usb mixer question

Sorry to ask, but here it goes.

I'm really unfamiliar with the concept of usb mixers and I want to know exactly what they are. I'm suspecting they let you connect multiple tracks to a daw, but still ain't shure.

If anyone could give me but the slignthest information about anything concerning USB mixers I would really be happy.

i suspect you're gonna find that most usb mixers only send a 2trk stereo mix to the puter... fire wire onthe otherhand generally does multiple channels.. ymmv...
