This is a small clip of the chorus I just needed your opinion on EVERYTHING. How is the mix overall. I miced the a fender amp with a sennheiser e835 and an mxl 603 about three feet back. I know these aren't the best mics for the job but thats all I had at the time. How are the levels in the mix should anything be higher or lower??? Also how do you guys like the sound of the music... I'm just new at this and want to do the best I can...thanks for your input.........
theres the link to it.....enjoy!

Well, I think there are some timing issues in here. Also tuning? Sometimes the guitars sound a bit flat.

But as for the mix, it's not bad! The only thing bugging me is that the ride cymbal is making a clicking sound, from being hit with a (plastic tipped?) stick of course, but it's kind of distracting, and it's panned hard right. (I would probably put it on the left side anyways, but that's me)

When you say timing do you mean the vocals or the guitar... I happen to be the singer and could fix any of the vocal problems. Just wondering thanks.

I hear the ride but what about the kick and snare and toms? Where did the rest of the kit go? I think the vocals are a bit too loud bu it could just be that the drums are so low? How many mics on the drums? They sound like they are soooo far away in a tiny box.. maybe it was one of those tiny monkeys with the tiny tambourines! LOL Just kidding about the monkey!

The whole mix was muddy as if you took all the highs out of it. The drums are buried in the mix, and yes, the vocal is way too loud.

Im still working on this mix.....I thought the vocals in the chorus seemed at the right level.....the verse seemed a little too loud.. Am I correct or do all the vocals need to be turned down. I will turn up the drums but they weren't recorded with anything special....I used two mxl 603's on the overheads, an e835 on the kick and some sm58 rip off on the snare. I know these are anywhere close to the ideal mics for the job but I had to make due with what i had. As for the guitars we added a fender strat which would add some treble to the mix. I will post the next clip as soon as get it done.....but please keep trash talking the first one....I badly need the critism....it helps me get better!
