So I have a shure 57 mic and it connect correctly to my mic stand. I just purchased a set of cheap condenser mics and the mic clips have a different size mounting thread than what is on the mic stand. Are there several different sizes or just a couple? How do I get the condenser mic to fit on the stand?

Thanks,
Rut

Usually you have to have the correct shockmount or clip from that condenser mic.
Also, some clips come with a threaded insert that screws into the mic clip itself that you can remove if it's not the same size/thread as your mic stand. They're pretty short inserts so maybe take a peek and see if there's one in the clip itself.

The condenser mics came with their own clips and a bar to mount them side by side (for stereo recording) but the bar clip and mic clips both have smaller dia. inserts than what is on my mic stand (or what is on the shure mic clip).

Are there adapters made to convert them?

They probably already have the adapters for the smaller diameter on them and you just need to remove them to work with the larger diameter threading. Usually these adapters are in the form of a threaded metal ring inside the female socket on the mic clip. This ring steps down the diameter. It usually has a couple of little slots on it's surface that allow you to take a large flat blade screwdriver or coin to unscrew that step-down adapter from inside the socket.
