Bring Back Transfat!
I just got my computer back up, and loaded the 3.02 ver of Ntrack.
I was trying to learn how to use the program (and a new C-Port soundcard) and figured I'd start with some simple guitar tracks.

I'm going through a GNX2 and into my amp.The first tracks I did by placing a 4033 down at my amp. I used several different distortions, verbs and delays. These tracks sounded full and accurate.

On the next set of tracks I went direct from the amps out and into the C-Port. The clean tracks sounded pretty good, but anything with distortion sounded excessively "fuzzy". The tracks didn't sound hollow exactly, but not as up front as micing the amp.

I tried running the GNX out to the C-Port but couldn't get a signal. Does doing this require a DI box? If so, would a TubeMP suffice?

The C-Port will accept either line or mic level. The input level controls on the front panel work for inputs one and two whether you are using the 1/4 in. or the XLRs.

Thanx twist. I'll have to re-read the manual on the GNX. I thought I'd read that for mono out you're supposed to use the left output. That's the way I run it into my amp. Had the output cranked up as well.
I'll play with it this weekend. I don't see any benefit to going through the amp.
I was pretty impressed with the sound when micing the amp.
