Didn't care for the sound of the drums on MOC II but both songs were cool overall. If you get some vocals and maybe a bass on there let me hear 'em

Thanx for the listen

the drums are too compressed, the snare not what i want at all. but i figured that the first shot was ok enough to post a link. the whole mix not enough headroom. i want the loud parts really loud and the clean parts quieter. now how to do that?

fateswebb yes we wrote them both yes there are lyrics. i didn't mean to sound like we needed to collab for a vocalist online, although the bass player vocalist joined the navy. are you interested in a collab?

studiowebman glad you enjoyed it lol hope i do better next time out

any more suggestions?

Over all I thought there was too much high end in the mix. The drums need some ring. This is a bit touchy: has your drummer considered a click track? His time is pretty damn good but there was one spot that I noticed that it wavered just a tad. Try layering the guitars to get some more balls out of them. It sounded kinda like listening to the song on tiny ghetto blaster. The songs were great though and that's the important part. I noticed as well that other than the drums, the mix was pretty well in mono. Don't be afraid to hard pan stuff. You can get away with more if you spread the stereo image a bit. You'll want to check for phase problems in mono but having a good stereo spread will give you more leeway as far as general seperation of instruments is concerned. Just my opinion.

I'm really diggin this, reminds me of a more aggressive CKY...

I liked your tune very much. It does sound like it was recorded on a mono tape recorder, like I use for song ideas. You seem to start to gel around 2:30. The part of the song that grabbed me the most was at the end. Started around 3:00. Would liked to of heard more of that throughout. It was full sounding, and had a kick ass quality to it. I think it is the Jam syndrome...the more ya play a tune, the more ya get the feel. :)

A bit more bass to the front would be awesome.

man such high end...i ran that thing tru sound forge and it was a solid brick....whatever tool you used to try to "master" that just killed it.

I love the song..definitly has some major potential..but lay off the mastering software!

your comments are awesome

i can see how DP4s mastering made the mix top heavy should be a easy fix next time around i'll lay off the compression and top eq

you guys (and true-eurt too) have been very helpful and supportive. the next go with vocals and hopefully better engineered i'll post it here thanx to all i respect your knowledge and appreciate the help

Rick

Snare way overpowering. The performance is good and the song is very cool. The cymbals sound a little funny here and there. Depending on the vocals, I would buy this. Kick is buried somewhere way down in the lows. Almost there dude!!!! Keep it up!
