I got a new 840. I was never a fan of digital. I am now. Does somebody know what the preferred means would be for connecting mics to inputs 1-4? The guy at the store didn't know if it would be ok to use inline transformers from xlr lo-z to 1/4"hi-z or if I should use cables from xlr to 1/4". Also, is there a particular brand or type of zip disk that works better than another for this unit? Thanks for your help!

one more thing - I've been looking for info online about recording, mixing etc. with 840. Any suggestions?

I have a suggestion...

Always use the in-line transformers, and not the adapter cord. You need to convert the Lo Z/ Hi Z thing here.

If you're looking for online help...

...Shhh...easy there, try this link, and tell 'em 'Zzat sent ya.

They'll know what you mean:)

Thanks for the information! Any ideas about the zip disks?

Well, you did ask...

Oops, forgot about that part. I've used both Iomega and Fuji with good results. My drive is the original 100MB type, so I can't speak to those 250MB disks.

Your actual results may vary.
