I added some harmony vocals (my mom came to visit!) and a slide guitar track to a song I wrote and recorded a couple years ago. What do you think?
The original only had the rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
When the Time Comes

I'm going to rerecord this song for an album. The rhythym guitar and lead vocals were done with a crappy computer mic, but the other tracks were done with an AKG Perception (and I might keep them for the new mix). Any suggestions?

I actually find the song writing itself very easy to listen to and thought provoking. A nice melody line from your vocals (which are slightly off pitch here and there) but no big deal.
A very sweet sounding tune that would benefit greatly from a re-recording of the vocals and the rhythm guitar, mainly to remove the boxiness and the distant sounding lead vocals. Perhaps some tweaking with the EQ ever so slightly on those two particular tracks may even bring a little more presence to the guitar.
Your slide playing is suited to the tune in a very well rounded manner in a sense that it is minimal but enough to convey the message and the feel. Nice work! :)

I look forward to hearing this tune re-worked nukeitout!

Thanx for sharing! :)

Thanks for the compliments and tips! I'll be sure to post it when I get the chance to redo it.

I cringe at myself in a couple places there for being off pitch, but I'm a bit more solid on the light stuff now that I'm a more confident in my vocal abilities. Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for my recording practices, I just started singing/playing in a band, and building the set list is taking a good chunk of my free time. I have a day off soon, maybe I'll record some then...

Pretty sweet little laid back tune. The noise is very distracting though. The lead guitar line is a little too up front as well. (imo)

I would really like to hear a redone version of the song.

Thanks! I'll be sure to post when I get the guitar and vocals redone.
