Sorry for getting here so late Paul,I've been very busy.
Great stuff, liked it a lot but I'd like to hear some percussion and/or additional instrumentation.
C'mon paul will we be hearing a version 2?

Acidguy, where have you been? You were missed, glad to have you back:D
Working on it as we speak (well, thinking about it, thats as good as...:) ) Thanks for the positive feedback.

Participant, Chris Harris (Have you all heard this guys music, bloody incredible) et al, here's where I have got to in my thinking, thanks to all the feedback:

1 Its worthwhile me sticking with the basic tune with maybe a break/bridge thrown in.
2. Change the dodgy (England English term for flakey)rhthym geetar tone (Flangy, scratchy and re-verby. )
3 Play more lead up the neck as God intended a Gibson Les Paul to be played (Thanks Al Chuck:) )
4 Break out from the pure pentatonic and include some chromatic blues notes once in a while
5 Play 3 semi tone notes very fast aka Mr Santana:D
6 Put some vocals in (Gulp:( )

All the other stuff like timing, stereo etc will be sorted, it was just a rough tracking mix to get the feel and to get your feedback.

Looks like I've got a project on my hands for the weekend:D Who is going to tell my wife I can't fix the yard cos I'll be busy?

Thanks again for all the feedback, very valuable to me.:D

Participant, I can't hear a timing issue at .30, the lead guitar is anticipating the rhythm guitar starting back up again and the bass is sliding up to hit the first note. Maybe I overdid the bass slide? I Haven't heard the tune on a decent set of monitors yet so maybe I'll do that before re-recording. And thanks for the kewl english, I can just about keep up with all you yankee's when y'all slip into local speak:)

The comments on EQ are especially welcome, the mic was set close to the amp, positioned to the side of the speaker, pointing in and accross the speaker.

Chris, you are right, I know I need to open up the mix, the rhythm geetar was panned full left and right, bass guit. panned 10% left and right, lead straight down the centre, no EQ, no compression. Guitars were recorded through a zoom fx processor, rhythm was flanged and reverb'ed, lead was echo'ed. And you are right, the tone does change as the track progresses. I don't know why that would be, I didn't change any characteristics, but the later lead does have more 'punch' than the earlier riffs.

Hi...I'm new. It's really late here in the states...(like, 2 a.m.,) so I can't play this really loud, like it should be. Definitely keep the tune.

I read the stuff about the timing issue at :30, and I heard it cuz I was listening for it. I hear what you're saying about the bass, but I think something needs to change a tad right there.

Otherwise...you're totally on the right track (so to speak).

How do I get a picture by my name? (sorry...did you read the "I'm new" part?).
