Hi Armistice
Sounds good to me. Drums maybe a little compressed for my liking and could have been brought forward more, especially the snare. In line with your last request, maybe a boost around 3-4 khz region to pick out the snare ;).

I would maybe have put a little more reverb on the backing vox that echo the lead vox at the end.

But I say all this mainly because you seemed dissappointed that no one had any criticisms.

ha, thanks toad... I'm going to do a bit of drum tweaking - there's a figure in there I'm not particularly happy with, and with hindsight the snare sound could do with some massaging, plus I need to alter the balance in the backing vocals or the other guy in the band will think he's dispensible! I'll have to check if I have any compression on the drums, it's Addicitive Drums so it could just be the samples... worth a look though! :D

Chilli - I'll go and get me a tube of mix glue... :laughings: I know what you mean and I can't quite pick what to change either..

GT - Jeez I got some good songs out of that relationship... I should go out with crazy psycho bitches more often... ;)

I haven't read any other posts, so if I'm repeating anything forgive me. Instrumentally this sounds really good. Love the acoustic guitars, loved the wah guitar. The drums sound good to my non drummer ears. The vocals seem a bit off for this song. I think they're just dryer sounding than the rest of the mix or something. Can't quite pinpoint it. Overall great tune and nice playing.

I dig the backward's guitar.

Not a lot I can hear that sounds bad on my mono headphone.

The only tweak that I can suggest is that the kick sounds like it's getting lost.

Final mix is up at the original link if anyone's collecting tunes... (rayc, I'm looking at you..) :)

Did a bit of uncompressing, reverbing, volume adjusting on vocals and drums and attempting to hide the more obvious acoustic guitar squeaks... plus added a more definitive ending at the request of Richard the other guy, who fancies himself a drummer...

Thanks for all the useful input.

I'll go away now... :D :guitar:

Great guitar work man! I didnt catch your earlier mixes maybe, I'm kinda surprised everyone says it's too compressed and tone it back. Granted, drums are my weak point by miles... But they sound pretty dry and weak to me. I know 'dry' doesnt mean 'compressed', but I couldn't tell you what to do to em, since I suck at drums :D Im more of a rocker / metaler too so I'm more used to loud hard-hitting drum tones. Plus I know I over-process all my drums, I dont have much experience with em. (I do midi drums a lot) So you can take my thoughts on drums with a grain of salt. Vox performance sounds really good, altho I did think it was a bit loud in the mix. The song is kinda off the soft end of my music listening spectrum, but I still enjoyed it a lot, nice job!
