What? That besides Tool, that guy has terrible taste in entertainment.

10,000 days might be the last Tool release for quite some time.

Really? Thats odd considering it only seems to average them 5 years between all their albums. ;)

LOL, beat me to it. I think Tool is actually Boston. :D

I'm really digging this album. I've always respected Tool, but it's been awhile since I was genuinely interested in buying their music. 10,000 Days is rocking my lame ass.

Lame ass it is, fucknutz.....where the hell you been?
I will buy the new Tool CD this weekend. I got Godsmack and Rob Zombie last weekend. To be honest, the Blame Amy Cd I got has grown on me quicker than Godsmack. I love Godsmack, but it has seemed lackluster. I hope Tool is better. If not, hell, it's only a 12 pack....

I didn't start listening to Tool until after the albums before 10,000 Days had settled (i.e. like 2 years ago). I find it hard to understand how anyone who enjoys music (unless your genre of choice is WAY far from rock, etc) can not enjoy any Tool. Especially if you're a member of this BBS.

DOGGIE!!! Doing great...been finishing up the album (kind of... :D )

Here's a plan to make sure you save enough money for beer: Trade in the Godsmack CD to get a few bucks off on Tool. You'll be glad you did, and (on the off chance that you miss that Godsmack sound) you can always listen to Alice In Chains!

And...dammit...you're making me want to pick up that Blame Amy album...

I know. When I read it I was thinking WTF? Does that mean 10,000 years until the next release?

It's good man, and only $10. If you got the scratch, get it. You'll enjoy.

I'm stunned on several levels:
1) the flack that comes from having differing tastes;
2) the fact that having differing tastes doesn't make some people appropriately tolerant of others with differing tastes:
&
3) the number of folk who seem to not just work for the "man" but look out for him.
I don't download music - I did a few songs - paid for em too but I DON'T LIKE MP3 QUALITY SOUND.
I REALLY didn't like LATERALIS - sounded much better in concert but doesn't cut it as an album. I was impressed with the art work etc but it wasn't good use of my money - I wanted Undertow 2 I suppose.
I LOVED UNDERTOW, AMENIA and enjoyed the EPs n stuff too.
I won't be buying the new album until I've heard some of it 1st - burned by Lat.
As for A Perfect Circle, I had high hopes for their stuff but it didn't approach my expectations so they're OFF the buying list. There are too many albums I really want to spend the money on. Sorry to APC fans, just a matter of TASTE.

I'm going to pick it up in a few weeks, suck or no.

How is Danny's drum sound on this? He seems to have a different sound with every album. More thwack on Undertow, deeper on Aenima, and kinda weird on Lateralus.
Cy, I just picked it up, and the drums are killer. I like em a bunch. They have a good, punchy sound. The harder songs have a lot going on...and they kept the sound together pretty well. Nice bass tones, and they don't seem to get lost. So far I'm digging it.

That album sucked. It had like 4 actual songs and they all sounded just like the last album.

I DL'ed it a week or so ago and already deleted it. It WAS a good band, but now they are washed up has-beens and the Tool fans that are trying so hard to love this album just just can't let go of the past.

You are da KING of irony...

Maynard wrote a song about you 10 years ago: hooker with a penis

Before you take this as a personal attack, re-listen to the song.

It think it's one of those albums like most tool albums, in which I find it better to listen to the entire album song after song to get it. Tool I believe puts a lot of consideration into this. It's like listening to pink floyd;s "the wall". It seems to connect like a movie having different scenes.

Yes I remember that song. But I didn't say they 'sold out'. I said they got stale.

Fair enough... I still thought the tinge of irony was remarkable. Additionally, since you downloaded the album, I'd imagine you got the last laugh on them.

I still think it is every bit as worthy as any of their previous works. I like it. However the quality of music is subjective at best.

C'est la vie.

Anyway better to be a washed up has been than a washed up never been like you.

Isn't the saying "Better to be washed up than to be washed away"?

Oh, no I just made that up....
P.S. This is a real dumb argument...it's foundation is based on personal preference related opinions. Sounds like my girlfriend and her friends bitching about fashion!

Made a Fan out of Me

I bought 10,000 Days (my 1st Tool purchase). This is an amazing piece of work. I've always enjoyed what I've heard peripherally from them, but now I can say I'm hooked and will be picking up the other releases soon.

I started digging them when I heard the Opiate album.
thats still their best in my opinion, the most raw.

Saw em once I'll see em again! Grate live show!

I just listened to Aenima, Laterlus and 10,000 days steadily for the last 2 weeks...

I just can't see how anyone can say this recent recording is a let-down, set-back, sell-out, is stale or otherwise. I can only detect steady improvement and refinement.

Seriously, it really rocks heavy for most of the record.

This is a very complex and fulfilling work we've been given by them.
