I am looking to do live radio and I want to ad effects and sweateners during the show. Can this be done using Protools, N-Studio, Sonic Foundry, etc or do I have to develop everything in pre or post production? I also want develop a "fancy technical theme music". Can I do this with one of the above software programs. The show will also end up on CD. Anyone with remote knowledge in the area can obviously tell I haven't a clue. Please, I could use the help.

I know a lot of radio people use Cool Edit Pro (Version 1.2) for their work, but I get the impression that they use it for pre-production rather than live, because CEP doesn't have real-time processing at present.

What do you mean by "developing fancy technical theme music"? Select and assemble from a menu of options? Record something you've played yourself?
