I'm just getting interested in working more with synth sounds. I am looking for a program that has a nice collection of a certain "sound." I dont pretend to know any synth terminology, so I thought I'd make a 45 second mp3 of the kind of sounds I'm looking for:

they are patches that one would hear in a movie.
are these what you call "ambient" sounds, or "atmosphere" sounds, or "pads" or something? If someone could help me out and put a name on the kind of sounds in the mp3, it would be appreciated.

So my main question is this: After hearing the mp3, which program would be best suited for me? Spectrasonics Omnisphere perhaps? Thanks a bunch!

after not hearing an sounds in your link I reckon buying nothing will get you there :D

I dont own Spectrasonics Omnisphere but no doubt it will get you ambient/pad sounds

there are a few out there, Absynth 5 was recently released and thats very very atmospheric with the added ability to mutate sounds it already has very easily...maybe worth a look or demo download as well....
