The first 2 songs on the site "Inspiration" and "Amazing Grace" i done with this guitar....i did add a bass track with a bass to "inspiration"...i did try to perfect the tracks so overlook any background noise or imperfections...

the songs "Inspiration" and "Amazing Grace" recorded with my Epiphone EJ-200 has the Artec EPP-MC pickup installed which is an internal microphone...i LOVE the sound i get because its soo natural...

i ordered the piezo pickup by Artec today because the mic seems to feedback at higher volumes.

Nice work Kevin. Guitar sounds good. Try using a pad to roll off some of the lows on mixdown, you've got a little rumble down there. Midi backing tracks on the Allison Krauss song? What midi module was used?
The only real critique I would give you, as a young guitarist, is to "get on top" of the beat a bit more. By that, I mean to say look ahead to the first beat and arrive their exactly, or even a little early. I know this is hard to do, our brains first listen, then re-act. By the time the cues are heard, and filtered back through our hands to the guitar, we all have a tendency to be a little late. It's a "feel" that you can certainly develop once you're aware of it.

mikemorgan....

thanks for listening....i understand what ur saying, i'm far advanced from what most my age are...i done already do studio work...took me a while to learn that part before i was ready for it though....

most of these tracks are karaoke tracks that someone sent me and wanted me to record...i ran the track one time and let it be what it was....most of it was just for fun..i didnt put no more time into it other than figure out what chord its in, then hit record...5 minutes tops...so i know the timing is off in places...

i've had an instrumental in a magazine before...i played bass for a rockabilly hall of famer so i understand hitting the notes on top, in front and behind...because all are used at times...

as far as the low end, the Epiphone has a low tone and i just recorded it direct and didnt EQ it... and some recordings the low rumble may be a bass, instead of making the bass really stand out, i'll let it be in the background as a "fill in" kinda and not too distinct just to make the sound fuller since i sometimes dont use a drum track. i do all kinds of stuff testing and to see what people like and i've got alot of recognition on certain things...but i understand what ur saying, i know that stuff is there, these are just quick recordings..i had too much stuff goin on around me to worry with perfect on most of these tracks...i just enjoy playing and recording and when it comes down to it, i put the time into it then.

anyway, thanks for listening and replying...
