This is a song from our latest Demo!

I'm not supposed to mix/master this one, but with all the material lying on my hardrive i couldn't stand the temptation.. :D

give it a go and feel free to leave comments on the song overall/mix/mastering/quality etc

not bad.... but what i want to know is why werent you aloud to mix it hahaha

You could say that it isn't my task to mix it, because we have an engineer mixing/mastering it...! But I wanted to try it out myself

Anyone else having ideas of improval for this piece?

Hey! I thought it was really good. My only critique would be that the snare sounds a little off for some reason. Sounds kind of "tubby" to me.

Also the higher notes sound a little off-key, but maybe that's just me.

Awesome job though. :)
 
Catchy original tune....

It really gets rockin around 1:35-1:55...like that groove a lot. :D

Like the bass drum - big and punchy.

Your mix is pretty good, sounds like your tracks were recorded well so it's translating into a good mix.

Should be interesting to see what the mixer/masterer will do - do let us hear that version too when it's ready.....
 
haha ok thats a pretty good reason, i was kinda thinking your band my think you re "special" or something :D (btw it does sound good )
 
I'm get what your saying about the snare... I'm allways having problems getting friends with it... From my point of view the snare is the most difficult part in a mix... And it's so important!

Well, ofcourse I'm going to post the final version mixed by our engineer!

I would be delighted to hear the things you had to say! To see a song from different perspectives is sometimes what it takes to make a killer song/mix!

You already have a killer song mix! I was just going to comment on the very end, it seemed like the vocals got a little lost cause I couldn't catch the words there but after listening a few more times I caught myself. You just nailed this. IMHO I can't wait to hear the engineers version :)

Man this is a good song. I might download it and put it on my mp3 player. I think the snare does sound a little off too.Awesome vocals.It sounds awesome.
