I've just created a new website for my music. Currently it has the song which I have previously posted (coorporation) and another song which I recorded a few months ago using even more primitive equipment than for coorporation. I'm going to rerecord it but would like to know what you think of the song at the moment. It's called The Great Insides

If you'd like to comment on the website then go ahead! If you're from the UK you might 'get' the biography bit, otherwise you probably won't get most of it.

The link is:

I haven't fully tested it yet so there may be some bugs.

Cheers

Ok I got it.

Send that guitar in for some treatment. Intonation sounds a bit messed, or it just isn't tuned right. The B string sounds flat to me. Sounds like a Takamine?

Bass guitar part is competing to much with the guitar. It doesn't add much as it stands now. It could though. Too high register and hollow sounding. More bass range might help it. IMO.

Don't think you use a click track, always a good idea, especially if your planning on using more than just acoustic guitars and voice. Timing does drift a tad, in particular the bass.

Outside of that, it's a good song, but could sound much better.

Ever since Kurt Cobain, they think its cool to play an out of tune guitar....

Disclaimer: Jags, that wasnt a stab at your song, tuning, or playing...just a note to Emeric.....

Ok, I heard it...maybe that guitar was just for effect but it did sound a bit off...but mine isnt setup too hot right now either....the song has a real haunting feel, but those drums seem to be playing a different tune...was that the effect you were going for?....all in all, it was....interesting...

Great insides recorded a long tie ago, my first stab at recording I think. I wouldn't be surprised if the guitar was out of tune as I don't think I was too bothered about it at the time, but it isn't meant to be! The bass was done with the same acoustic, hence it not sounding like a bass! And yes, I didn't use a click track, I just layed down the acoustic part and tried to judge it on that. I rerecorded it yesterday and will post it up once I've recorded the vocals, so hopefully sometime tonight.

Gidge, I think I know what you're getting at. The guitar on coorporation was definately in tune, I was just playing some slightly minor minors if you know what I mean! I don't much like the sound of the guitar but right now I'm trying to get as many songs recorded as possible so don't have time to redo it yet. It is possibly slightly out of time, but more to do with latency I think. I've never made a proper drum track before so when I was doing that one I wasn't sure what it needed. It certainly isn't standard but I think it turned out OK.

Thanks for listening and for the feedback!
