Gary, thanks man! Glad it rocked ya, cause if you ask me... there's nothing better than rocking :D I'm still completely addicted to the wah pedal too... I thought that phase would pass... but nope, just love the raw emotional nastyness.

About the vocals, I've messed with a bit to hopefully clear them up some... I'll post a new link in a few minutes :)
And the flanger plugin, too! :p

Alrighty guys, if any of you would like to take a quick listen to the vox all around, I did a remix here. It's the same intrumental wise... but I tried the vocals louder and without flange! Not sure if I'm comfortable bringing my softer vox up that front... any thoughts? Too loud now? just right? a good start? :)

new flangeless vox version (same link as above)
Lost in a Dream

old flange vox version
http://www.soundclick.com/pro/view/01/default.cfm?bandid=392607&songid=3812711&content=song

p.s- the first verse is still quiet since I'm pretty much whispering it

I can tell the difference is ever so slight on this system. But it's better. I'm not so picky on the singing abilities of people, I generally like the presentation. So in other words, Dire Straits and U2 have many songs that only they can do because the song is special in the delivery not in the fact that the singers are some Opera singing, 15 octave hitting, Josh Grobans.

So I would raise the vox a db or two more. Only as long as you're comfortable. :)

I like it better this way. :)

Man that solo is pretty cool and the fast notes around 1:45 - 1:49 and so on are pretty cool. :)

Is that your real Bass? Sounds really cool.

Thanks for the second listen bubba :)
Cool you like the new version... it doesn't sound too much louder to me, but a little clearer without the flange... but I don't know, I need to take a break from the track and take a listen a few days from now to figure it out.
Haha, yeah I get accused of talking in songs and just singing with the guitar... but like you say, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't... I just figure the more I try singing the more I'll learn
Yeah that's my real bass, the Peavey Fury with new strings. I really like the thing, but it's the only bass I've ever played too :D
Thanks again bubbadawg ;)

LMAO!!! You been dissed!

Snakedog,

love the tune man. The breakdown with the wah actually reminded me of some syd barrett style stuff (original guitarist from pink floyd), although I dont think I ever heard him use a wah. Oh well, the correlation makes sense to me :-P. I dig the organ, there are quite a few ideas I have, but I dont have a keyboard with an organ setting, though my roommate does, may have to steal it from him for a bit. anways, sweet song, keep em coming!!!

Sorry, but kind of a weak diss. I think I'll survive ;)

Thanks Mr. Radiohead! I would defiintely consider all floyd stuff an influence when I was learning guitar, so that's a pretty cool compliment. It doesn't matter what my influences are, I always add wah to it though :D
Yeah, steal that organ!
Just look up keyboard chords to your songs and mess around with different sounds and some cool stuff can happen. The only reason I haven't had much synth in my songs until now is that it's been broken.
But IT"S BACK! :D
Cheers man, Snake

just a quick comment to kind of agree with whats already been said, I deff like the vocals better now they do come off as much clearer.

didn't understand them the first time but really thought the lyrics were cool too man.

overall songs a deff fave of mine from you

take care

gary

A diss is no big deal. It's when you get diss, dat and the udder ting...That can really break your fucking heart.

Thanks Gary for the extra listen and comment.
I agree, I wasn't sure about the vox on this and usually I go with the "makes no sense hiding my vox" routine, but honestly I kinda like these lyrics and didn't see the point if nobody could understand them. So thanks again everyone. I'll keep at this one ;)

In the words of U2, "Don't let the bastards grind you down." :)

There will always be someone that sits in the back row and adds nothing but frivolous expert-opinion.

Thanks Bub-Masta :D Yeah cool song, I think I'm the only person I've met that thinks Zoo Station is a really cool song on that album
